French Literature and Old Letters
Walking back from a local tabletop gaming store, I wandered past one of my regular Trödelladen. I could have taken the train or my bike to the store, but I was in the mood to slowly. A lot has been going on, and I felt like I needed to walk, listen to an audiobook and “waste” a little bit of time.
I don’t know the guys at the Trödelmarkt by name yet but they do recognise me. Unfortunately I’m not yet at the point that they’re setting stuff aside for me, but give it time. It could happen.
Poking through an old cardboard box, what caught my eye immediately was the exercise book. I’ve come to realise that old photographs, while wonderful, are everywhere. Individual photos may be gems, but old photo albums aren’t yet rarities. What’s rare is getting them for a decent price.
For me it’s all about the old paper. Exercise books, business ledgers, report cards, personal letters…
Enjoy a few pages, as I sit with them and try to figure how I can use them in collages, or whether there are better ways to preserve them.
